James and John
Talented twin brothers based near Manchester, UK, with a flair for writing anything medical.
After studying for PhDs and initially following different career paths in healthcare, we joined forces in 2016 to combine our extensive experience in research and writing.
We have complementary skills and decades of combined experience in medical communications, clinical research and bench science.
We have high standards, and we always work to them. We can’t not.

James
James has a background in editorial and communications, with 17+ years in medcomms. He studied in Manchester for a PhD in Biochemistry (Gene Expression), and a first-class degree in Biological Sciences (Cell and Molecular Biology).
James learned that he is better suited to writing up data than doing the research to generate it! He has a real passion for words and literature (and takes writing courses in his spare time). James has extensive editorial experience, ranging from medical writer to editorial director.
In his spare time James is a junior football coach, lifelong LFC fan and wannabe novelist.
John
John has a background in research and publications, with 10 years in clinical/academic research, and 7+ years in medcomms. He studied at Keele University for a PhD in Biomedical Engineering (Arthritis), and a first-class degree in Biochemistry and Biology.
John has shown a passion for scientific research, centred on clinical hospital-based research with patient involvement. He has extensive research experience, from Research Associate to Research Fellow, has written study documentation, and is an author of 20 peer-reviewed original research articles and multiple international congress presentations.
In his spare time, John is a keen walker and a classical music enthusiast. He is also a lifelong LFC fan.
